Hi.
I just started apenn mush system on a windows pc go ahead and laugh if you want lol, and my help files won't load, I type help and it says huh? type "help" for help
Also, when I load up the executable and I get my console, somewhere in there it says error, could not load mush.cnf. Now mush.cnf i had to copy from mushsomewierdcharacters.dst and copy and paste it, then rename it to mush.cnf, open it in a plain text editor, change values and save, no go, any help? Ah one thing about that, I think some of the values in that file are still being recognised, except i told it to call my currency coins, not pennies, didn't do it. BTW, I am not a c++ programmer and never plan to be. I'm slowly learning how to build objects and stuff with the help of some friends of mine who are in the same spot as me and it looks like maybe I won't need to know c++ at all. I am completely confused about verbs, at least when I try to follow instructions found in pencmd.txt I get a whole lot of questions saying do this on what or that's not here, or similar? and stuff, any help on that? If anyone willing to try to help me stepps up, could email me off list and we could arange to have you connect to the mud to help with the specifics if you like. I've had it for 2 days, so if I could get a patient vetern for a bit, i'd be mighty abliged and appreciative and all that. Ah, by the way, pre-compiled binary version here, I've never compiled anything before so I was thrilled to find pre-compiled binaries at download.pennmush.org. I'm using 183, the one that doesn't say ssl in the zipped file's name.
thanks a trillion.
