It might be a bad idea to upgrade from pl 7. I would suggest trying to
import it into the newest version of 1.7.6 possible, then try importing
again with a clean tarball of 1.8.0 (which should be able to handle the DB
upgrade, haven't done it so I don't know why it wouldn't work right now).
1.8 made some changes to make porting Win32 DBs easier; if you're going to
try it with 1.7.6, you'll have to become more familiar with weirdness like
the crypto system (SHS, which has been the default for some time, makes
this easier, though) and other Win32-isms I don't recall (I assume you're
already aware of possible line ending issues).
